Week 4 Assignment 1 & 2

It seems like the child is a good reader. Being that she scores an accuracy rate of 95%, this text is on her level. The student also self corrects at a rate of 1:3 which shows that she is self-monitoring her reading. The child’s comprehension skills are good; she can accurately recall details from the story and is able to retell the differences between whales and fish.

It seems like the child has difficulty with words beginning with “th”. She had trouble reading words like; though, they and through. Her fluency is not perfect and to deal with that the student must practice reading. The child also needs help with focusing since she lost her place a few times during reading.

Shared Reading: Ms. Perez literacy lesson begins with a shared reading phase in which all students sit together on a rug. During this time, Ms. Perez guides her students through the poem, and reminds them strategies that will help them sound out difficult words.   Shared reading promotes literacy in many ways. Week 3- Assignment 3

I am currently in my 4th year of teaching. In the morning hours I teach7th & 8th graders Hebraic Studies. In the afternoon I am a Title One teacher for 4th-7th graders in which I am responsible for teaching the girls Math & Literacy.
